Gov. Andy Beshear has announced two more people died from severe flooding that swept through Kentucky last week.

Beshear said in [a Tuesday morning social media post](https://x.com/GovAndyBeshear/status/2074459701186621515?s=20) that one death was in Hardin County and another was in Jefferson County, making the total number of deaths from the floods six.

Previously, the[Madison County coroner](https://kentuckylantern.com/2026/06/29/two-people-who-died-in-flooding-identified-in-madison-county/) announced John Powell, Patricia Beck and Garnett Isbell died in Madison County in flood-related deaths. A fourth person, who has not been identified, also died in Jackson County.

“Please join Britainy and me as we pray for their families during this difficult time,” Beshear said in his post.

Funeral services for the six people who have died from the floods will be paid for out of the [Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund,](https://insurance.ky.gov/ppc/new_default.aspx?divid=9) said Beshear spokesperson Scottie Ellis.

“Gov. Beshear created the Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund to help Kentuckians recover and rebuild during their moments of need, starting with coverage for the funeral expenses of those lost,” Ellis said.

The governor has said the state plans to make a request for both [public](https://www.fema.gov/assistance/public) and [individual assistance](https://www.fema.gov/assistance/individual) from the federal government.

Kentuckians affected by the storm can report issues to Kentucky Emergency Management via an online [unmet needs survey and damage reporting tool](https://www.kyem.ky.gov/recover-and-mitigate/individual-assistance/ky-ia-intake).
