LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising motorists of a temporary closure of U.S. 25 (Old Richmond Road) in Fayette County scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22. The closure is needed so crews can safely complete paving operations.
U.S. 25 will be closed between Walnut Hill Road and Delong Road, at mile points 7.1 to 7.5, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather permitting. The cabinet said the work is tentatively scheduled and could change because of weather, emergencies or other factors outside the control of the Department of Highways.

Message boards will be placed at the northbound and southbound I-75 off-ramps and near each end of the closure to alert drivers to the closure and the detours.
Drivers can check for live traffic updates at GoKy.ky.gov, the state's traffic information site.
The closure falls within the cabinet's District 7, which includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
