UK Athletics names Elijah Craig, Evan Williams as official bourbon partners
LEXINGTON, Ky. — UK Athletics announced a landmark multiyear partnership with Heaven Hill Brands on Thursday, naming Elijah Craig the Official Small Batch Bourbon Partner of the Kentucky Wildcats and Evan Williams the Official Bourbon Partner.
The agreement represents a significant commercial partnership for UK Athletics, marking Athletic Director J Batt's first major business agreement since arriving on campus. Financial terms were not disclosed. The partnership was brokered by UK Athletics' multimedia rights partner JMI Sports and will integrate Heaven Hill's brands across four major venues: Kroger Field, Rupp Arena, Historic Memorial Coliseum, and Kentucky Proud Park.
Two premium hospitality spaces will receive significant upgrades. The Mezzanine Club at Kroger Field will be transformed into the Elijah Craig Club, while the Bourbon Club at Rupp Arena will become the Elijah Craig Speakeasy. Both venues will feature custom design elements drawn from Elijah Craig's heritage and character. Elijah Craig will make a transformative investment in UK Athletics' facilities as part of the arrangement.
Evan Williams will activate through its Bourbon Nation program with a presence at tailgates and fan zones on gamedays. The partnership will also include specialized cocktails at the Elijah Craig Club, featuring offerings such as the "4th and Inches" (Elijah Craig Bourbon Lemonade) and the "Blue Smoke Old Fashioned" (Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel Old Fashioned).
Heaven Hill and UK are releasing limited-edition, co-branded Elijah Craig and Evan Williams bottles celebrating the partnership. The inaugural release features a barrel hand-picked by Batt himself during a trip to Bardstown ahead of his first football season at UK. Select co-branded products are expected to make their way onto Kroger store shelves, a natural fit given Kroger is already UK Athletics' official grocery partner.
"When you think of Kentucky, one of the first things you think about is the Wildcats. Another is Bourbon," Batt said in a statement. "This partnership creates exciting new opportunities to enhance the fan experience, celebrate our shared Kentucky heritage and support the future of UK Athletics."
