UK launches 12th annual Arts in HealthCare art competition for employees
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky's Arts in HealthCare program is accepting submissions for its 12th annual juried art call, inviting all UK employees and their immediate family members to showcase their creative talents.
According to UK News, the program aims to encourage employees to explore and experience the healing power of art while understanding how creative works enhance the healthcare environment. Participants may submit up to three pieces of two-dimensional art in any medium through an online survey.
The submission deadline is June 5, with selected artists to be notified via email by July 1. Artwork must be unframed and no larger than 20-by-30 inches. If photography is selected, the Arts in HealthCare department will print the photographs.
An independent jury will select pieces for exhibition in two employee galleries located at UK Chandler Hospital Pavilion H and the Kentucky Clinic. Selected artworks will be professionally framed and displayed. After exhibition, donated pieces may become part of the UK Arts in HealthCare permanent collection and could be relocated to clinical locations throughout the healthcare system with employee recognition.
Participants interested in submitting artwork can fill out the submission survey online. For additional questions about the art call, interested employees can contact sarah.timmons@uky.edu.
