
UK Men's Soccer Seeks First Win Against Evansville
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Wildcats will look for their first victory of the 2026 season when they host the Evansville Aces on Friday night at the Bell Soccer Complex, according to UK Athletics.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on ESPN+. The Wildcats enter the match winless at 0-2-1 after a draw against Western Michigan and losses to Louisville and Virginia Tech. Evansville arrives at 0-3-0, having most recently lost 2-1 to Northwestern.
The match will be the 12th meeting between the programs. Kentucky defeated Evansville 4-0 in their last contest during the 2018 season. The Wildcats have dominated the all-time series, winning nine of 14 matches.
Four different Kentucky players have scored through the opening three games, including midfielder Yasha Schaerer and forwards Costa Iliadis, Tom Keller and Michael Lee. Iliadis leads the team with two assists. For Evansville, midfielder Pablo Calvete leads the Purple Aces with two goals and four points.
Friday's match is designated as youth camp reunion night, encouraging UK men's soccer youth campers to attend. Admission to all 2026 Kentucky soccer regular season home matches is free to the public.
Kentucky is a defending Sun Belt Conference champion and will begin conference play on Sept. 18 against Marshall at home.
