LEXINGTON, Ky. — Summer parking permit sales are now open at the University of Kentucky, allowing students planning to remain on campus through the summer months to purchase permits at $10.50 per week.

Sales begin Monday, May 4, through UK Transportation Services customer service center at 721 Press Avenue. Students can purchase permits in person Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by phone at 859-257-5757. Unlike regular semester permits, summer permits are not available for online purchase.

Parking enforcement begins Monday, May 11, and continues through Friday, Aug. 14. Summer permits authorize parking in most student lots, Cornerstone Garage, Scott Street area lots and Sports Center area lots. However, permits are not valid in metered or paid visitor lots, and several restricted areas remain off-limits, including employee reserved lots, the Nutter Center lot, and Memorial Coliseum residential areas.

UK Transportation Services notes that most campus lots are controlled for permits from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, though many employee-intermediate lots revert to accepting any valid permit after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. Parking violations such as fire lane parking, yellow line parking and unauthorized ADA-accessible area use remain enforced year-round.

Graduate assistants, teaching assistants and research assistants may be eligible for E-academic permits during summer, but all other students receive standard summer permits.
