United Airlines is expanding service at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, adding a fourth daily nonstop flight to Newark Liberty International Airport to meet growing regional travel demand.

Beginning Sept. 8, United will increase its schedule between Louisville and Newark from three to four daily departures. The additional flight will operate seasonally through Nov. 30 before returning March 4, 2027.

Dan Mann, executive director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, said the expansion reflects Louisville's strong connection to the New York City region, which ranks as the airport's second-largest passenger market with approximately 640 travelers flying between the two cities daily. "This fourth daily flight to Newark continues to reflect the positive growth for our region's travelers," Mann said.

The Newark hub provides Louisville travelers with connections to more than 40 international destinations, expanding access to Europe and other global markets. For Louisville's business community, the additional frequency offers greater scheduling flexibility for travel to the nation's largest metropolitan economy while strengthening international connectivity.

United is expanding its broader presence at Louisville's airport as part of ongoing infrastructure investment throughout Kentucky's aviation sector. The airport is undertaking a transformative $1 billion investment through its SDF Next Program, which includes expanded security checkpoints and modernized baggage systems to accommodate growing passenger demand.

United now offers as many as 18 departures on peak days from Louisville to its hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Newark. The airline has increased its capacity at the airport by 42% since 2019, according to the airport authority.

United's Louisville-Newark flights offer United First and United Economy Plus seating. Tickets for the expanded service are available through United Airlines.
