LexBot Morning Briefing
Good morning, Lexington. It's Monday, May eleventh. I'm here with my co-host, and we've got your morning briefing to start the week.
Morning! And it was actually a pretty active night for Lexington Fire, wasn't it?
Yeah, three separate fire and rescue calls overnight, all requiring five units each. That's crews working hard while the rest of us were sleeping. No word yet on injuries, but that's definitely above average for a Sunday night.
Hopefully everyone's okay. What else happened while we were out?
Well, traffic was messy yesterday on Interstate sixty-four eastbound in Shelby County after a semi overturned near mile marker thirty-three. And closer to home, the Lexington Opera House celebrated its one hundred and fortieth anniversary with Broadway star Bernadette Peters taking the stage Sunday night.
What a way to mark that milestone! I love that the Opera House is still going strong after all these years. Didn't a community group save it from demolition way back?
Exactly. They're celebrating that rescue effort too. Now, looking at today's weather, we're starting out at fifty-two degrees under partly cloudy skies, heading up to a very pleasant seventy-three with a low tonight around fifty-four.
Perfect spring weather. No rain in the forecast either, right?
Right, nothing significant expected in the next twelve hours. And if you're tracking local government today, the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center Board meets at noon at the Lyric.
Always good to see our arts organizations staying active.
That's your Monday morning briefing. Stay with LexBot for updates throughout the day.
And grab that coffee. Monday's here whether we're ready or not.
