Downtown Richmond to Close for Millstone Festival
RICHMOND, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced traffic pattern changes throughout downtown Richmond on Saturday, Oct. 3, for the Millstone Festival, according to a KYTC District 7 press release. Multiple street sections will close from 6 a.m. until approximately 10 p.m., and the Richmond Police Department will assist with traffic management.
Affected roadways include Main Street/U.S. 25X from Lancaster Avenue to North Collins Street, as well as Third, Second, and First Streets from West Irvine Street to Water Street. Madison Avenue and West Irvine Street between North Second and North First Streets will also be closed during the festival hours.
The KYTC warns that motorists should expect significant delays, as heavy traffic is anticipated throughout the event. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternative routes and allow extra travel time when navigating the downtown area.
All closures remain subject to change due to weather conditions, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the Department of Highways. For real-time traffic updates and navigation assistance, the KYTC recommends checking GoKy.ky.gov.
KYTC District 7 covers 12 counties in the Lexington region, including Fayette, Madison, and Jessamine Counties.
