Gov. Andy Beshear provided a comprehensive Team Kentucky update covering a range of state priorities, including ongoing response to recent natural disasters, economic development initiatives and improvements to state parks and tourism infrastructure.

The governor addressed the ongoing response to severe flooding and storms that recently impacted multiple counties across Kentucky. Team Kentucky is launching an unmet needs survey and damage reporting tool for those affected by flooding, while recovery efforts continue across the commonwealth.

On the economic development front, Beshear highlighted Kentucky's strong momentum. Since the beginning of his administration, Beshear has announced 904 private-sector new-location and expansion projects totaling over $27.8 billion in announced investments, creating 48,700 jobs, representing the highest investment figure for any governor in state history.

Team Kentucky is also launching cooling centers as the state grapples with extreme heat following the flooding, with heat indices expected to exceed 100 degrees across the region.

The governor announced enhancements to Kentucky's state parks system, including a new Kentucky State Parks app designed to provide up-to-date information and resources on outdoor recreational opportunities, events and hiking trail maps. Kentucky's state parks serve as vital resources for tourism and economic development across the commonwealth.
