LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Hub for Innovative Learning and Leadership has been recognized as Kentucky's inaugural Law and Public Safety Program of Excellence, earning statewide distinction for its career and technical education pathway, according to Fayette County Public Schools.

The Law and Public Safety Education Network selected the HILL's program as the first to receive the honor in Kentucky, setting a standard for career and technical education in the field across Fayette County Public Schools. The designation highlights the program's strength in preparing students for careers in law enforcement, corrections, forensics and emergency services.

The HILL, located at 100 Midland Avenue in downtown Lexington, is a cutting-edge career and technical school that combines hands-on learning with industry-driven instruction. The program equips students with foundational knowledge in areas including criminal justice, emergency response, constitutional law and forensic science.

The school welcomed approximately 1,200 students in its inaugural year in fall 2025, selected from more than 3,000 applications across the district. The HILL consolidated Southside and Eastside Technical Centers into a single hub designed to inspire students and foster connections with the Lexington community and regional employers.

Law and Public Safety programs across Kentucky provide industry-aligned instruction emphasizing civic responsibility, ethical decision-making and public safety operations. The recognition of HILL's program as a Program of Excellence signals the strength of Kentucky's growing Law and Public Safety pathways in preparing the next generation of public service professionals.
