FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Department of Education's Office of Teaching and Learning has appointed Sara Merideth as the new academic consultant for world languages, according to Kentucky Teacher.

Merideth, a French teacher with Fayette County Public Schools, brings extensive experience in language education to the role. She previously served as president of the Kentucky World Language Association and has been active in professional development initiatives focused on language instruction.

The Office of Teaching and Learning provides support to schools and districts with emphasis on highly effective teaching and learning, assisting educators with implementation of Kentucky Academic Standards and standards-aligned curriculum development. The office also facilitates professional learning focused on standards implementation and evidence-based instructional practices.

Merideth's appointment comes as the KDE continues efforts to strengthen world languages education across Kentucky's public school system and support global competency learning for students.
