The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close Kentucky Route 169 (Keene Road) in Jessamine County on Thursday, May 14, for scheduled maintenance work, according to a press release from KYTC District 7. The closure will take place at mile point 13.7 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Crews will repair shoulders and ditch lines in the area. Motorists are advised to use KY 29 (Wilmore Road) as an alternate route during the closure. Message boards have been placed along the roadway to notify drivers of the upcoming work.

KY 169, also known as Keene Road, serves the Keene community in northwest Jessamine County, which relies heavily on vehicle transportation with limited public transit options. KYTC District 7 oversees highways in 12 central Kentucky counties, including Jessamine, Fayette, and surrounding areas.

The Transportation Cabinet said the work remains "scheduled on a tentative basis, and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways."
