LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close road shoulders on Interstate 75 and Kentucky Route 4 (New Circle Road) in Fayette County next week for scheduled maintenance work, according to a traffic advisory from KYTC District 7.

Work is scheduled daily from Monday, June 15 through Friday, June 19 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Affected locations include the southbound I-75 lanes at Exit 99 to U.S. 25, northbound I-75 at Exit 104 to Kentucky 418, and both the westbound and eastbound lanes of New Circle Road at Exit 6 to Kentucky 1681.

The KYTC advises motorists to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in work areas. Road users should be prepared for potential traffic impacts during the announced windows and consider using alternative routes if possible.

This is part of ongoing maintenance efforts on major corridors serving Lexington. In recent months, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has undertaken multiple projects on New Circle Road and Interstate 75 as part of larger widening initiatives to accommodate the region's growth. The New Circle Road Widening project carries a construction budget of $62.7 million and is being funded by federal and state governments.
