KYTC Plans Lane Closures on I-64 in Scott, Fayette Counties
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled lane closures on Interstate 64 in Scott and Fayette counties for maintenance work next week, according to KYTC District 7 press releases.
The left lane will be closed daily from Tuesday, April 14 through Friday, April 17, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting. Eastbound lanes will be affected from mile point 67 at the Woodford/Scott County line to mile point 71.5 in Fayette County. Westbound traffic will experience closures from mile point 71 at the Scott/Fayette County line to mile point 69 near the Georgetown exit.
The work includes shoulder repair in preparation for an upcoming resurfacing project along this section of Interstate 64. The KYTC advised motorists to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in work areas during the scheduled maintenance.
All work and closures are tentative and subject to change depending on weather conditions, emergencies and other factors beyond the department's control, the cabinet stated. For real-time traffic updates and road conditions, motorists can visit GoKY.ky.gov.
District 7, which oversees the maintenance work, includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
