KYTC schedules I-64 lane closure in Woodford County
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising motorists of a scheduled right lane closure on Interstate 64 westbound in Woodford County from midnight Tuesday, Sept. 15, through 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.
The closure will affect the right lane of I-64 westbound between mile point 60.5 and mile point 59.5, near the Franklin County line. Maintenance crews will use the closure period to complete concrete roadway repairs on the stretch of highway.
Motorists should expect delays and use extra caution while traveling through the work zone. The GoKy.ky.gov website provides live traffic updates and road conditions. All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather conditions and other factors beyond KYTC's control.
The closure is part of broader maintenance efforts on I-64 in the region. In March, the KYTC announced a $14 million improvement project affecting nine miles of I-64 in Fayette, Scott and Woodford counties, with work scheduled for completion by Nov. 1, 2026. That project includes new blacktop, bridge and drainage repairs, and other upgrades.
