LEXINGTON, Ky. — A 63-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting Friday night that left one person hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of Winter Garden at approximately 8:38 p.m. on July 24 and located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. As police worked to locate the suspect, Jerry Tubbs turned himself in at LexPD Headquarters.

Tubbs has been lodged at the Fayette County Detention Center and faces charges of assault in the second degree, burglary in the first degree, tampering with physical evidence, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Investigators identified the Winter Garden incident as stemming from a domestic violence call.

The shooting marked the first in a series of six incidents that occurred across Lexington over the weekend and early Monday. The spate of violence prompted police to deploy significant resources, though no incidents resulted in fatalities. Four of the six shooting suspects have been arrested and charged, with authorities noting that in those cases, the suspects knew their victims.
