Governor Andy Beshear has unveiled the Kentucky Historic Dining Guide, a new tourism and heritage initiative designed to connect visitors and locals with dining experiences rooted in the commonwealth's cultural history.

The guide, produced by the Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, features locally-owned restaurants housed in buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The project aims to support Kentucky's restaurant industry while boosting tourism across the state.

The guide is accessible through multiple channels, including heritage.ky.gov and Apple Maps, making it convenient for both residents and tourists planning dining experiences.

"The Kentucky Historic Dining Guide is a program of the Kentucky Heritage Council," according to the state's official tourism website. The guide showcases establishments ranging from historic downtown cafés and roadside diners to grand hotel dining rooms and preserved taverns. Each location represents Kentucky's culinary traditions and architectural heritage.

The state's tourism industry continues to experience record growth. In 2024, Kentucky's tourism industry generated $14.3 billion in economic impact and supported 97,394 jobs, marking the third consecutive record-breaking year. The guide represents another effort by the Beshear administration to build on this momentum.

Featured establishments include renowned venues such as Holly Hill Inn in Midway, the Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg, and the Seelbach Hotel's Old Seelbach Bar in Louisville—all locations where architecture, atmosphere, and cuisine connect visitors to Kentucky's past.

The initiative aligns with the governor's New Kentucky Home campaign, a strategic initiative designed to drive economic investment, attract talent, and increase tourism across the commonwealth.
