LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky men's golf head coach Gator Todd announced the addition of Tyler Nickol as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 season, according to UK Athletics.

Nickol, who spent the 2025-26 season at Bowling Green State University assisting both the men's and women's golf programs, brings experience working with competitive collegiate teams. During his time at BGSU, he helped coach both squads to third-place finishes at the Mid-American Conference Championship. The women's team won two tournaments under his tutelage — the A-Ga-Ming Invitational and the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational — while the men finished as runners-up at the Sweetens Cover Intercollegiate.

"We're excited to add Tyler Nickol to our coaching staff," Todd said. "He's a high character guy who fits in great with our program."

Nickol is a former player at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, where he competed from 2020 to 2024. He recorded three collegiate victories and claimed the 2024 Great Midwest Conference individual championship before earning his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in May 2024. Prior to entering collegiate coaching, Nickol worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at Ulen Country Club in Lebanon, Indiana.

Todd, a former professional golfer who previously served as associate head coach at Vanderbilt, has been at the helm of the UK program since 2023. Under his leadership, the Wildcats have shown significant improvement, with the team winning the Colleton River Collegiate in March 2026 and recording a strong spring season highlighted by multiple top-five finishes.
