No. 3 Kentucky defeated No. 13 Penn State 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15) in four sets Sunday night at Wrigley Field in the inaugural Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge, marking the first volleyball match ever played at the iconic Chicago baseball stadium.

The Wildcats played before a sellout crowd of 43,067, the second-largest attendance in Wrigley Field history. Senior outside hitter Brooklyn DeLeye led Kentucky with 21 kills, while setter Kassie O'Brien contributed a season-high 48 assists. Morgan Gaerte added 15 kills and Lizzie Carr logged six blocks as the Wildcats hit .281 on the night while holding Penn State to a .173 hitting percentage, forcing 27 hitting errors.

The match served as the pinnacle of Challenge Week, which featured all 34 teams from the Big Ten and SEC competing between September 1-6. Kentucky advanced to the final by defeating UCLA on Wednesday before the Penn State showdown. The event demonstrated the growing momentum of women's college volleyball, with the sport drawing unprecedented national attention in primetime on Fox during Labor Day weekend.

Chicagoland native Georgia Watson, a backup for Kentucky, entered the match with the Wildcats leading 22-12 in the fourth set and sealed the victory with the final two kills. The defensive effort was anchored by libero Molly Tuozzo's 19 digs and strong net play, as Kentucky dominated the blocking battle with a 12-8 advantage. The team recorded a season-high 60 kills overall.

The doubleheader at Wrigley capped a historic week that saw three national championship programs participate, elevating women's college volleyball on the national stage. Kentucky returns indoors Wednesday when it faces North Carolina in the SEC/ACC Challenge at Historic Memorial Coliseum at 6 p.m.
