LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky women's golf team, returning an entirely upperclassmen lineup, begins its 2026-27 season this week at the Folds of Honor Collegiate at American Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan, from Sept. 7-9.

The Wildcats, ranked 31st in the nation according to Golf Channel's preseason rankings, will feature junior C.A. Carter, senior Cathryn Brown, senior Brooke Oberparleiter, senior Samantha Paradise and junior Isabella Johnson in the first tournament of the season. UK will tee off Monday beginning at 8:15 a.m. ET off the 10th tee, with the tournament broadcast live each day on Golf Channel.

Head coach Golda Borst, entering her 17th season, has transformed what was a young lineup just two years ago into a squad of seasoned veterans. The entire roster returning from a historic postseason run that culminated in the program's seventh NCAA Championship appearance in spring 2026, with Carter, Brown and Paradise among those who competed in that tournament. Brown, an Eddyville native, leads the team with a 72.1 stroke average from 2025-26, while Carter follows at 73.7.

Kentucky enjoyed strong success at this event a year ago, finishing third overall just six shots behind champion Texas A&M. Sophomore Anastasia Hekkonen of Kentucky won the individual title at the 2025 tournament, while then-junior Brown earned co-runner-up honors after a late rally that included a chip-in on her final hole.

The competitive field this week includes top-ranked programs such as No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 11 Duke, No. 20 Oklahoma State and No. 28 Florida State. The tournament supports the Folds of Honor non-profit organization, which provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members who have fallen or been disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
