LEXINGTON, Ky. — Paving work in the Chevy Chase neighborhood has been rescheduled due to an unfavorable weather forecast, with contractors now planning to begin operations on September 30 and continue through October 5.

To minimize traffic disruptions in the area, the city of Lexington is permitting contractors to conduct work during nighttime hours on Euclid Avenue and High Street. The intersection of Euclid Avenue and High Street will experience closures during the scheduled work windows.

According to the city's announcement, work will proceed in two phases weather permitting. Between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. on September 30 and October 1, the intersection will be closed to prepare for paving operations. The final paving phase is scheduled for between 7 p.m. on October 1 and 7 a.m. on October 2, when the intersection will again be closed.

Motorists traveling through the Chevy Chase area are advised to use navigation applications for real-time closure information and to plan alternate routes during the work period. The nighttime work schedule is intended to reduce congestion during peak daytime traffic hours.
