Business and community leaders from Lexington and Louisville are joining forces for a combined delegation trip to Washington, D.C., aiming to secure federal support for regional priorities. The coordinated effort marks a shift toward unified advocacy on behalf of Kentucky's two largest metros.

The trip is being organized by Commerce Lexington and One Louisville, with BrightSpring Health Services presented as the sponsor. The delegation aims to bring "together business leaders from both Louisville and Lexington for a unified, stronger regional voice at the federal level."

The expanded two-night, three-day format allows participants "a more productive, engaging schedule" and includes coordinated meetings with members of Kentucky's congressional delegation and federal agencies. Participants will also hear from national policy experts and engage in networking with fellow leaders and insiders from both regions.

The trip provides an opportunity for local business leaders to advocate directly for federal priorities impacting the region, from infrastructure and workforce development to economic investment. Similar delegations from across the country conduct annual Washington trips to lobby for local and regional interests with their representatives in Congress.
