Speakeasy Dispensary will open its newest Kentucky medical cannabis location in Corbin on Thursday, July 9, according to The Lane Report. The dispensary, located at 1895 Cumberland Falls Highway, represents the company's continued expansion as Kentucky's medical cannabis program accelerates across the commonwealth.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, welcoming local officials, community leaders, and invited guests for a preview before the dispensary opens to patients at 11 a.m. the following day. The location will stock Kentucky medical cannabis products including flower, vapes, edibles, concentrates, and other available categories as the state's nascent market develops.

"Every community we enter has its own story, and our goal is never just to open another dispensary," said Casey Flippo, CEO of Gold Leaf Management, which operates Speakeasy. "We're here to create a place where patients feel genuinely supported from the moment they walk through the door."

To facilitate patient enrollment, Speakeasy will host a low-cost patient drive on opening day at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, located just behind the dispensary. The drive runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., offering streamlined certification in partnership with the Kentucky Cannabis Industry Association. Licensed providers will conduct evaluations, notary services, and state application assistance in a single visit. New and renewal appointments cost $25, with an additional $25 state application fee.

The Corbin opening comes as Kentucky's medical cannabis program continues expanding across the state. As of May 2026, 12 dispensaries were open, with growth expected throughout the year. The state legalized medical cannabis in 2023, with dispensaries beginning operations in 2025. The program currently serves patients with qualifying conditions including PTSD, chronic pain, and an expanded list of conditions approved in June 2026.
