LEXINGTON, Ky. — The University of Kentucky is launching a new wireless phone service that lets fans, students and alumni support the university with every monthly bill payment.

Kentucky Mobile, announced by the University of Kentucky, UK Athletics and the UK Alumni Association in partnership with Collegiate Mobile, offers affordable plans ranging from $15 to $45 monthly depending on customer category. With each payment, a portion of the bill is automatically directed to the customer's choice of UK Athletics, student scholarships or campus and community programs at no additional cost, according to a press release from UK Athletics.

"This service enables fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to stay connected while also supporting the University of Kentucky in the way that matters most to them," said J Batt, UK Athletics Director and CEO of Champions Blue LLC, the holding company created by the university to generate new revenue streams for the athletics department.

Kentucky Mobile delivers nationwide 5G coverage through Collegiate Mobile's network partnership and features no contracts or hidden fees. Customers can keep their existing phone numbers and current phone models. The service is the first of its kind at UK and represents another revenue innovation for Champions Blue, the athletics operating model established in 2025 to help UK remain competitive in a rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape.

Collegiate Mobile is the nation's first wireless carrier built specifically for the collegiate community. The company currently partners with over a dozen universities, including Auburn, Michigan State, Oregon State and the University of Cincinnati.

Kentucky Mobile customers gain access to exclusive gameday benefits including VIP hospitality experiences at Rupp Arena and Kroger Field, fan giveaways and premium stadium access.

Student plans range from $15 to $35 monthly, faculty and staff plans from $16 to $36, and alumni and fan plans from $20 to $45. Customers can enroll at KentuckyMobile.com.

The partnership was developed in collaboration with JMI Sports, the multimedia rights partner for UK Athletics. JMI Sports manages collegiate media rights and sponsorship sales across numerous universities and professional venues.
