The Kentucky Wildcats concluded their 2026 outdoor track and field season on the final day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, according to UK Athletics. The meet featured multiple notable performances from the Wildcats athletes competing for the national title.

Freshman Julia Gunnell capped a historic heptathlon campaign by finishing 18th overall with 5,646 total points, the second-highest mark in Kentucky history. Gunnell posted personal bests in the long jump (5.65m) and the 800-meter run (2:14.06) on the final day after competing in five earlier heptathlon events.

Junior Emmi Scales entered the women's 100-meter hurdles final as the second-fastest qualifier but was disqualified after crossing the finish line. According to Olympic.com, Scales appeared poised for a podium finish before falling at the final hurdle and being disqualified for going outside her lane. Oregon's Aaliyah McCormick won the title in 12.47 seconds.

Janet Jepkemboi Amimo earned her first career NCAA First Team All-America honor with an eighth-place finish in the women's 800-meter final, posting a time of 1:59.82. Amimo entered the final with the nation's third-fastest time of the season.

Freshman Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera, competing in her debut season, finished seventh in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.45. Freshman Kemarah Howard, the NCAA's second-best high jumper entering the competition, cleared 1.79 meters (5-10.5) in the women's high jump final.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of A'Laji Bradley, Hannah Douglas, JahQueen McClellan and Vanice Kerubo Nyagisera rounded out the day with a ninth-place finish in 3:29.60.
