LEXINGTON, Ky. — United Airlines has increased the capacity of its daily non-stop flight between Blue Grass Airport and Denver by deploying a larger aircraft, adding more than 50 seats per day on the popular route that launched in 2023.

The carrier is now operating an Airbus A319 with 126 seats on the Lexington-to-Denver route, up from its previous configuration. The upgrade includes an expanded first-class cabin, offering Lexington travelers improved comfort on the approximately two-hour flight.

"We're grateful to United Airlines for continuing to invest in our community with this upgrade to a larger, more spacious aircraft—something we know our passengers truly value," said Eric Frankl, President & CEO of Blue Grass Airport, according to a statement released by the airport.

The Denver route, which began service in September 2023, has proven popular with central Kentucky travelers seeking access to western U.S. destinations. Denver functions as a major hub for United Airlines, with convenient connections to more than 70 westbound destinations including points throughout the western United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Western Canada, Mexico and Japan.

The destination appeals to both leisure and business travelers. Visitors can explore outdoor attractions including Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as cultural and entertainment venues like the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and the iconic Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre.
