FCPS Public Engagement staff earn 3 national communication awards
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Three members of Fayette County Public Schools' Office of Public Engagement have earned national recognition for their communications work, winning awards in the 2026 National School Public Relations Association contest.
Vernon Bentley earned an Award of Excellence for "More Than Basketball," a sports feature video. Robert Lewis received an Award of Merit for "I Am FCPS," a districtwide campaign video. Alyssa Dyer received Honorable Mention recognition for a "Class of 2025 Billboard" marketing campaign.
The trio will be recognized during the NSPRA's annual conference in July. The Office of Public Engagement works to inform and engage the community to support students, families, staff, and stakeholders across the district, according to the FCPS website.
The national awards recognize outstanding work in publications, videos, podcasts, websites, social media and other digital media formats. Organizations compete against similar-sized peer institutions, with submissions rated on overall excellence and quality compared to other entries in their category.
The three award-winning projects reflect FCPS's commitment to communicating district achievements and celebrating school community accomplishments. The sports feature highlighted the intersection of athletics and academics, while the "I Am FCPS" campaign showcased the district's mission and values to a broad audience.
"This recognition reflects the dedication of our Office of Public Engagement team to telling FCPS's story in meaningful and creative ways," according to the district announcement.
