LEXINGTON, Ky. — Road crews are preparing to begin paving operations on Fontaine Road after completing milling work, according to the city of Lexington. Weather permitting, contractor ATS Construction plans to start paving Friday morning, with work expected to conclude by Wednesday, September 23.

Milling operations will shift to North Limestone on Friday, spanning from New Circle Road to Sixth Street. The city is encouraging motorists to exercise caution in work zones throughout the duration of the project.

The Fontaine Road improvements represent the final phase of a Kentucky American Water project that began last year to replace the water main in the area. ATS Construction, the private contractor hired by the city for the work, is coordinating with city officials to ensure progress remains on schedule and disruption to residents is kept to a minimum.

The city said it will continue to monitor the project to maintain productivity and minimize inconvenience to the community as paving operations proceed over the next several days.
