Gov. Beshear: ARMOR-IIMAK plans $6M Boone County expansion creating 44 jobs
FRANKFORT, Ky. — Governor Andy Beshear announced that ARMOR-IIMAK, a global manufacturer of thermal transfer printing materials, plans to expand its Boone County operation with a nearly $6 million investment that will create 44 Kentucky jobs, according to an announcement from the Governor's Office.
The expansion will allow the company to increase manufacturing output and meet growing consumer demand for its products. ARMOR-IIMAK operates a facility in Hebron, where it manufactures thermal transfer ribbons and imaging solutions used in barcode printing, packaging and variable information marking across multiple industries.
The company resulted from a 2021 merger that unified two industry leaders in thermal transfer technology. ARMOR-IIMAK designs and manufactures thermal transfer ribbons for use on labels, flexible packaging and other applications requiring on-demand variable information printing.
The Boone County expansion represents continued momentum in Kentucky's manufacturing sector. Beshear's administration has prioritized attracting and retaining manufacturing operations, emphasizing the state's workforce and business-friendly environment as key competitive advantages for companies expanding operations.
ARMOR-IIMAK joins other recent manufacturers and logistics companies that have announced expansions in the Boone County area, reinforcing Northern Kentucky's position as a regional hub for industrial and manufacturing activity.
