Hume Bedford Pike Closure Set for Oct. 19 for Drain Replacement
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a road closure on Hume Bedford Pike (KY 1939) in Fayette County, according to a traffic advisory issued by the agency's District 7 office. The closure was rescheduled to Monday, Oct. 19, because of weather conditions, the advisory said.
The closure is set for 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day on the segment between Russell Cave Road (KY 353) and Elizabeth Station Road/Greenwich Pike (KY 1876), between mile points 0.2 and 1.7. Crews need the time to replace a cross drain, a drainage structure that carries water under the roadway.
Motorists who normally travel the route can use Russell Cave Road (KY 353), Elizabeth Station Road/Greenwich Pike (KY 1876) and U.S. 460 as alternate routes during the closure.
The Transportation Cabinet said all work and closures are tentative and may change because of weather, emergencies or other factors outside the control of the Department of Highways. Drivers can check for live traffic updates on the GoKy.ky.gov website.
The advisory was issued as part of the cabinet's District 7 region, which includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
