Right Lane of U.S. 25 (Main Street) to Close Oct. 21 for Road Repairs
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has scheduled a right-lane closure on U.S. 25 (Main Street) in Fayette County for routine roadway repairs, according to a traffic advisory issued by the agency's District 7 office. The closure was rescheduled because of weather and is now set for Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Crews will close the right lane of U.S. 25 between North Broadway and Jefferson Street, covering mile points 14.1 to 14.4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, the release said. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone, meaning vehicles will continue to move past crews while the lane is closed.
The cabinet urged motorists to use extra caution while driving through the work zone. Drivers who regularly travel the Main Street corridor, particularly during the daytime hours when work is planned, should allow extra time for their trips.
The agency noted that all work and lane closures are tentative and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways. Schedules can shift with little notice, and the cabinet said updates would be posted to its live traffic information site.
Motorists who want real-time information can check GoKy.ky.gov, the state's traffic website. The advisory was released Oct. 16 and was updated to reflect the new closure date.
The release was issued by KYTC District 7, which covers Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
