I-64 Westbound Lane Closure Set to Begin in Scott County
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced overnight lane closures on Interstate 64 westbound in Scott County beginning Thursday as part of a $14 million rehabilitation project spanning Fayette, Scott and Woodford counties.
Beginning Thursday, May 14, traffic on I-64 westbound at mile point 67.5 near the Cane Run Road overpass will shift into the fast lane during overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, according to a press release from KYTC District 7. The lane closure will remain in place near the overpass as work continues.
Motorists should expect delays and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises drivers to reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the area.
Nine miles of Interstate 64 will see new pavement, bridge, and drainage repairs as part of the broader improvement initiative. Additional traffic impacts associated with the project will be announced as work progresses.
All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change based on weather, emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. For real-time traffic updates and road conditions, motorists can visit GoKY.ky.gov.
