LEXINGTON, Ky. — Alex Brown, a veteran personnel executive with experience at both the collegiate and professional levels, has been named assistant general manager for the Kentucky football program, head coach Will Stein announced Friday.

Brown joins the Wildcats after a brief stint as a national scout for the East-West Shrine Bowl and as a BLESTO Mid-South area scout for the Atlanta Falcons. Stein praised Brown's qualifications, saying he "brings a tremendous combination of college personnel experience and NFL scouting expertise to our program" and called him "an outstanding evaluator who understands roster construction."

Before joining the Falcons in July 2025, Brown served as director of player personnel at Ole Miss for one season, coordinating the Rebels' player-acquisition efforts and overseeing personnel department operations. In 2025, he helped Ole Miss sign a top-20 high school recruiting class and the nation's No. 3 portal class, according to On3.com.

Brown spent two seasons at SMU, initially as director of scouting and pro liaison before being promoted to senior director of player personnel and general manager in February 2023. At Rice from 2019 to 2022, he served as director of recruiting and pro liaison and helped sign three consecutive top-five recruiting classes in program history.

His collegiate career began at Houston, where he held several personnel and recruiting positions from 2015 to 2019 and contributed to the recruiting and development of two future first-round NFL Draft picks: Ed Oliver in 2016 and Payton Turner in 2017.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the Kentucky football program," Brown said. "This program aligns with the type of people I want to be associated with, especially Coach Stein." Brown cited his prior relationships with Kentucky offensive coordinator Pete Nochta, emphasizing the shared approach to team building and culture.

A native of Arlington, Texas, Brown earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2014 and is married to the former Brittani Bass.
