LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising drivers to avoid a section of KY 1977 in Fayette County as crews prepare to repair a damaged shoulder.

According to a KYTC District 7 press release, KY 1977 (Spurr Road) will be closed between mile points 3.8 and 4.2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18. No through traffic will be permitted during work hours.

The affected section of KY 1977, which traverses the northwestern outskirts of Lexington, will remain inaccessible to through traffic during daytime hours while repair crews conduct the work. Motorists should seek alternate routes and use caution when traveling through the area.
