LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close a stretch of KY 537 in Montgomery County for three days next week to complete cross drain repairs, according to a press release from KYTC District 7.

The roadway will be closed between mile points 5.3 and 7.7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily on Wednesday, April 22 through Friday, April 24, weather permitting. The road will reopen to traffic each day after 4 p.m.

The Kentucky Department of Highways District 7, which is based in Lexington, oversees maintenance and construction in 12 central Kentucky counties. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes during closure hours, with KY 1991 (Hinkston Pike) suggested as an alternative path through the county.

The cabinet warned motorists to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the work area. All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
