KYTC planning road striping across District 7 next week
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is warning drivers to expect traffic delays next week as road striping operations take place across central Kentucky.
According to a press release from KYTC District 7, striping crews will work daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. beginning Wednesday, April 9, through Tuesday, April 15, weather permitting. The work will be performed as a mobile operation across various state and rural secondary routes.
KYTC officials said reduced speeds and brief delays are possible as crews move through the region. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for slow-moving equipment and personnel in work zones.
The striping operations cover a wide geographic area. District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
KYTC also announced pavement marking work at multiple intersections in District 7 through Friday, April 10, where contractors will update pavement arrows and lane markings at intersections using thermoplastic material.
All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways. For real-time traffic updates and road conditions, motorists can visit GoKY.ky.gov.
