KYTC postpones Richmond Road lane closure for tree trimming
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has postponed a daytime right lane closure that was scheduled for U.S. 25 (Richmond Road) in Fayette County for tree trimming operations, according to a KYTC District 7 press release.
The closure, originally planned for Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., would have affected northbound traffic between mile points 11.6 and 12.0, spanning from the Idle Hour Drive area to the Holiday Road and Chinoe Road intersection. KYTC said updated scheduling information will be provided once available.
Richmond Road, a major north-south corridor connecting different sections of the city, has been undergoing significant work in recent months. The road experienced resurfacing operations earlier this summer with nighttime lane closures, and a larger widening project remains underway along the corridor.
Motorists should watch for updated announcements about rescheduled maintenance. The KYTC cautioned that all work and closures are scheduled tentatively and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the department's control.
For real-time traffic updates, motorists can use the GoKY app or Waze on their smartphones to track conditions and find alternate routes. KYTC District 7 oversees highway maintenance and construction across 12 central Kentucky counties.
