LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin repairs on three flood-damaged sections of KY 169 (Tates Creek Road) in Madison County starting Friday, Sept. 18, according to a KYTC District 7 press release. The slides were caused by flooding in June.

Work will occur at mile point 6.0 (approximately 0.17 miles south of KY 1984), mile point 7.2 (approximately 0.8 miles south of KY 1985), and mile point 9.5 (approximately 0.6 miles south of Bethel Branch Spur). Crews will begin at mile point 9.5 and progress toward mile point 6.0, with each location expected to take about one week to complete. All repairs are scheduled for completion by Friday, Oct. 16, weather permitting.

One-lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on working days, with temporary traffic signals managing alternating traffic through the work zone. Both lanes will reopen after working hours. Motorists driving vehicles or loads wider than 8 feet are encouraged to use an alternate route via KY 1156 during construction.

The KYTC noted that all work and closures are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions, emergencies, and other unforeseen factors.
