LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will conduct scheduled bridge deck pothole repairs on New Circle Road (KY 4) in Fayette County this week, with work set to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, according to a traffic advisory released by KYTC District 7.

Originally, crews were slated to work on the eastbound outer loop near mile point 1.4 at the Clays Mill Road overpass on Tuesday, July 28, but the work has been rescheduled to Thursday, July 30 due to weather. On Wednesday, July 29, the left lane will be closed on the eastbound outer loop near mile point 17.5 at the Chinoe Road overpass.

The left (fast) lane will be closed at each work location, though one lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zones.

New Circle Road is a 19.3-mile state highway that serves as an inner beltway around Lexington and is maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The road handles high traffic volumes, particularly in its northeastern quadrant, making pothole repairs a critical maintenance priority.

All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways. District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
