KYTC to close KY 29 in Jessamine County for drainage work
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close a portion of Kentucky Route 29 in Jessamine County on Thursday to install a cross drain, according to a traffic advisory issued by KYTC District 7.
The closure on KY 29, known as High Bridge Road, which connects the communities of High Bridge, Wilmore and Nicholasville, will occur at mile point 1.69 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 23, weather permitting. Cross drain installation is part of routine road maintenance work conducted by the state transportation agency.
Northbound motorists traveling through the work zone should use Handys Bend Road as an alternate route. However, no alternate route will be available for southbound traffic at the closure location. Emergency vehicles will be permitted to pass through the work zone as needed during the closure.
The KYTC advises motorists to use caution and watch for work zone signage and personnel. Message boards will be positioned to alert drivers of the temporary road closure. The agency noted that all work is scheduled on a tentative basis and may change depending on weather conditions, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
