KYTC to close McCracken Pike for drainage repair
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close a section of KY 1659 (McCracken Pike) in Woodford County on June 30 to repair a cross drain, according to a traffic advisory from KYTC District 7.
The closure will run from 4 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday, affecting the roadway between mile points 3.0 and 4.5. No through traffic will be allowed during the work period, weather permitting.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and use caution in the area. GoKY and Waze are available for real-time traffic navigation. KY 1685 (Steele Road) is listed as an alternate route.
The project is tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions, emergencies and other unforeseen factors. KYTC District 7 serves Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford counties.
Woodford County, located about 10 miles west of Lexington, is part of the greater Lexington metropolitan area. McCracken Pike is a scenic route that passes through the county's historic farmland and near landmarks such as the Woodford Reserve Distillery.
