KYTC to Repair Bridge Potholes on New Circle Road
LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will repair bridge deck potholes on New Circle Road (KY 4) next week, requiring lane closures that motorists should plan around during daytime hours.
According to a KYTC District 7 traffic advisory, work will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, at three locations beginning Monday.
Repairs are scheduled for May 18 at the Winchester Road overpass near mile point 12, with both eastbound and westbound lanes affected. On May 20, work will focus on the westbound inner loop near mile point 17.5 at the Tates Creek Road overpass. The final scheduled repairs are May 21 on the westbound inner loop near mile point 4.5 at the Versailles Road overpass.
All lane closures will occur in the right, or slow, lane. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in work zones.
The repairs are part of ongoing maintenance conducted by the KYTC Operations and Pavement Management Branch, which manages pothole repair and pavement maintenance across Kentucky's 27,600 centerline miles of roadways. New Circle Road, which serves as a 19.3-mile inner beltway around Lexington, is heavily traveled and critical to regional traffic flow.
All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. For real-time traffic updates and road conditions, motorists can visit GoKY.ky.gov.
