LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close lanes on New Circle Road (KY 4) during the first week of June for bridge deck pothole repairs, according to a traffic advisory released by KYTC District 7.

Work is scheduled daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, on the westbound inner loop at three locations. On Monday, June 1, the right lane will close near mile point 17.5 at the Tates Creek Road overpass. Wednesday, June 3, the left lane will close near mile point 18.5 at the Lansdowne overpass. Thursday, June 4, the right lane will close near mile point 4.5 at the Versailles Road overpass.

Motorists are urged to use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zone. Real-time traffic updates and road conditions are available on GoKY.ky.gov.

The pothole repairs are part of ongoing maintenance on New Circle Road, which serves as an inner beltway around Lexington and is heavily traveled as a critical regional thoroughfare. The road is also undergoing a larger widening project expected to be completed by 2027, which will expand capacity and improve safety on the route.

All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways. KYTC District 7 oversees highway construction and maintenance in 12 central Kentucky counties, including Fayette, Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford.
