LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will close lanes on KY 4 (New Circle Road) for routine pothole repairs on bridge decks next week, the KYTC announced Thursday.

Daytime work is scheduled Monday, April 27, Tuesday, April 28, and Thursday, April 30 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting. Work will take place at three separate locations along the westbound inner loop, with lane closures shifting each day as crews move between bridge locations.

On Monday, the left lane will be closed at mile point 14 near the Richmond Road overpass. Tuesday's work will target mile point 17 at the Chinoe Road overpass, and Thursday's work will focus on mile point 17.5 near the Tates Creek Road overpass, where the right lane will be closed.

One lane will remain open at all times during the repairs, though the KYTC cautions that motorists should expect delays and watch for signage and personnel in the work zones. New Circle Road serves as a major circumferential bypass for Lexington, carrying significant daily traffic volume throughout the region.

The pothole repairs are part of routine bridge deck maintenance performed by the KYTC District 7, which oversees highway construction and maintenance across 12 central Kentucky counties. All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other unforeseen factors.
