LEXINGTON, Ky. — The city of Lexington is modifying its waste collection schedule due to the Memorial Day holiday, with residential and commercial customers advised to adjust their normal routines.

No city waste collection will occur on Monday, May 25, according to the announcement from the city's Division of Waste Management. Residents and businesses that normally receive curbside pickup on Mondays will instead be served on Wednesday, May 27. Carts should be placed out after 4 p.m. on Tuesday to ensure Wednesday collection. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday curbside pickups will proceed as scheduled and will not be affected.

For businesses with dumpsters, the city outlined specific collection changes. Dumpsters normally collected on Mondays will be picked up on Tuesday, May 26, while those typically collected on Tuesdays will be serviced on Wednesday, May 27. Thursday and Friday dumpster collections remain unchanged.

The Haley Pike Waste Management Facility, located at 4216 Hedger Lane, will be closed on Saturday, May 23 and Monday, May 25. The Lexington Recycle Center and Electronics Recycle Center will also be closed during those dates.
