Partners for Youth opens 2027 summer job program enrollment
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Partners for Youth has opened registration for its 2027 Summer Youth Job Training Program, seeking to place 300 Lexington students in paid workforce training positions across local businesses this summer.
The program, which targets youth currently in 9th, 10th and 11th grade during the 2026-2027 school year, pairs students with Lexington businesses and community partners for paid work experience. Youth workers will have the opportunity to work up to 20 hours per week for six weeks, with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government covering all wage costs directly.
Open enrollment is now underway for both youth interested in participating and for local businesses seeking to host youth workers. Previously enrolled students must re-enroll for the 2027 program. Participating employers bear no direct wage expenses but are asked to invest in training, supervision and mentorship of the young workers, making the program a public-private partnership.
More information about the Summer Youth Job Training Program is available on the program's website.
Partners for Youth, a nonprofit working to support vulnerable and at-risk youth in the Lexington community, developed the program to promote positive youth development and prevent juvenile delinquency through collaboration and capacity building among local organizations.
