Lexington schools host 'Ready, Set, Go' literacy fair for kindergarteners
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Fayette County Public Schools is hosting a Kindergarten Literacy Fair on Friday, June 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Goodwill Opportunity Center parking lot, 130 W. New Circle Road, according to the school district announcement.
Titled "Ready, Set, Go ... Race to Kindergarten," the free event is designed to help families prepare their children for kindergarten. Families will have the opportunity to pick up educational materials and school supplies while connecting with local community organizations that provide resources to support children's academic success.
One highlight of the event will be a presentation by a speech-language pathologist, who will discuss communication development in young children. The event brings together multiple community partners to provide resources and guidance for families with kindergarten-age children.
According to the district, the event aims to "ensure that every child starts kindergarten ready to learn and thrive." Families interested in learning more about kindergarten in Fayette County Public Schools can visit the kindergarten page on the district website or access registration and enrollment information.
