LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising motorists to prepare for lane closures on New Circle Road (KY 4) next week as routine pothole repairs are conducted on bridge decks.

The work is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, April 21-23. A single lane will remain open throughout the work, though the cabinet warns that delays should be expected.

The repair work will shift locations daily as crews move between bridge locations. Tuesday's work will focus on the Lansdowne Drive overpass at mile point 18 on the eastbound outer loop, with the left lane closed. Wednesday's repairs will take place at the Richmond Road overpass at mile point 14 on the westbound inner loop, also affecting the left lane. Thursday's work will be at the U.S. 60 overpass at mile point 4 on the westbound inner loop, where the right lane will be closed.

The closures are part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's ongoing maintenance program for New Circle Road, which serves as a major connector around Lexington. As part of the 2026-2028 Biennial Highway Construction Plan, $4.7 million would fund improvements on New Circle Road between Boardwalk and Bryan Station Road, part of larger infrastructure investments for the region.

The cabinet emphasized that all work and closures are tentative and subject to change based on weather conditions, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances. Motorists are advised to watch for signage and personnel in work zones and use caution while passing through affected areas.
