LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is scheduling rolling roadblocks on Interstate 64 in Montgomery County Friday night and early Saturday morning for pothole repairs, according to a press release from KYTC District 7.

The operations are scheduled from midnight to 6 a.m. Friday, May 22, between mile points 104 and 115, weather permitting. Crews will first work on westbound lanes near mile point 115 before switching to eastbound lanes, the cabinet said.

Rolling roadblocks are mobile operations that temporarily slow or stop traffic to allow maintenance crews to safely complete repairs near active lanes. During similar operations earlier this year on other sections of I-64 in the region, temporary delays of 15 to 20 minutes were possible.

"Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the area," the transportation cabinet said in its advisory.

The work is tentative and subject to change based on weather, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances, officials noted. For real-time traffic updates and road conditions, motorists can visit GoKY.ky.gov.

KYTC District 7 oversees maintenance across 12 Central Kentucky counties including Fayette, Scott, Woodford, Madison and surrounding areas.
